Optimistic Quote

Winston Churchill, president of United Kingdom , once said that "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty." Indeed, It is all about our choices to become a pessimist or optimist. As for me, I am 80% optimist and 20% pessimist.

If you ask my mom whether I am an optimist or pessimist, she would definitely answer you "optimist." There is one famous example my mom often makes fun on me--Whenever I ask my daughter her school test ranking, if she's no. 20(out of 30) in the class, she would proudly and calmly reply to me, "but there are still 10 people behind me!!"  If you ask my brother about me, he would also tell you I am a optimistic person. " How did you do on your math test, Cyndy?" asked by my brother. "Not bad, I get 98"replied with ready-to-be compliment voice "oh? then how many people get full score?" "er.....hnm.....20 people...." "............okay....." Yes, I myself have to admit that I always look at the bright side of life.

What about the rest 20% of my pessimistic personality? I don't think I am an ENTIRE 100% optimistic person, to be honest, I think most of my optimistic characteristic comes from my pessimistic side. Whenever I am facing a difficult problem or making a critical decision, I always think about what if the worst situation happen? Can I handle it? or can I accept it? If I can persuade myself to accept the worst part, then the clouds on top of my head will soon disappear.

Life is never easy, not to mention a student's life. When you see a list of presentation, essay, and group project assignments, you do need to have an optimistic personality to deal with them!

I've read and commented on Angelica & An's blog.

  2. It's ok to plan for the worst situation as long as you're hoping for the best :-)
