Advice

In Taiwan, we have a clollege entrance test just like the SAT in US. All the high school students seeking to go to college are required to attend the test on July1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The tolal score of the tests are importantant of course, but there are still some basic limitation of different subject socres from various departments of universities. Different departments emphasize on different subjects. Once the score report was released from the internet, I sought for my mom's advice.

My mom is quite a dominate mom. To be honest, she alwasys thinks that her advice is the best of the world. As her daughter, I actually have no choice but to listen my mom's "suggestion." She analyzed my score report card and concluded that i got a higher Math, Manderine, and English score of all the subjects. The toatl score was not high enough to be enrolled in the top and second business school in Taiwan. I personally refused to go to the third business school because it is really far way from my house. My mom then suggested me to take a forieng language as my major in the second business school ( NCCU) which was also famouse for the foriengh language studies. Japanese and English were the most popular major during that period of time in Taiwan, however, my mom asked me to majored in Korean instead of those two majors. Her pespective was that both languages are too commonly used in the world, we should've differenciated ourselves with others so we can have more working opportunities. The final goal my mom asked my to accomplish is that to trasfer to business major in my second year and then make Korean as my minor.

In the end, I am still that well-behaviored little girl as she always expected me to be. I successfully got transfered to the risk management major and took Korean as my minor for the rest of three years. And as for the opportunities from the job markets? It actually worked! This is why there's an old saying from Chinese called" Always follow what old people ask you to do".
